Duck Races, Snowdrops and Cream Teas

Duck Races, Snowdrops and Cream Teas in Church Lane, Aston Rowant Village on Sunday 11 February from 2pm to 4pm.

Once again the enterprising Aston Rowant Parish Council and Aston Rowant Church are teaming up to provide Duck Races on the Holbrook stream, amid the Snowdrops which grow along the stream banks and Cream Teas in the nearby Church. There is entertainment and pleasure for the whole family. But truthfully we want to attract as many children and those young at heart as possible to join in the fun.

We are located just 1 mile north of Junction 6 of the M40. The attractive cul-de-sac village is down a left turn off the B4009 and will be well signed. Park just beyond the church to the left of the road and walk to Church Lane through the Churchyard.

If arriving in the opposite direction, drive to Chinnor and head towards the motorway on B4009. We are only 2 miles from Chinnor. In this case turn right from the main road into the village.

The Parish Council will be organising the Duck Races and they also manage the natural area where the snowdrops bloom. The Church provide the cream teas and cake and all the proceeds are for the upkeep of the Church. Aston Rowant School have been invited and they usually arrive in some numbers. So arrive early to guarantee a place in the races. Everyone is welcome but please remember to wear your wellies or boots even if you are only a spectator.
