Tips For Travelling On Holiday & Looking After Your Body

It’s the time of year when the schools have broken up and many of us are taking our annual summer holiday. Whether you are taking a flight or packing up the car with family travelling to visit the UK, this is not the time when you want to experience aches and pains.

Suggestions:

1. Remember to listen to your body if you feel a twinge or pain don’t ignore it try to deal with the problem as soon as possible.

2. Take regular breaks en-route. Getting up, moving around and balancing your weight distribution will make a big difference.

3. Keep mobile and active during your holiday. Try not to over do it!

4. Take care, when loading suitcases into the car or overhead lockers in a plane.

5. When unloading bags, try standing close to the item and bend your knees to lift it up.

6. Using a ruck sack rather than a shoulder bag to distribute the load across your shoulders and back evenly.

7. Mobilising the spine and a few simple exercises are often enough to prevent back pain from spoiling your holiday.

8. If you feel aches before you go away get them sorted before you travel.

9. Try a brief gentle bit of movement every 30 minutes to keep your body happy.

10. Holidays are a fantastic way of relaxing and giving your body some rest. Pain free!
