Duck Races, Snowdrops and Cream Teas in Aston Rowant on Sunday 16th February

Thanks to the Chiltern View Magazine, we attracted an increasing number of children and families last year, having fun at the Duck Races, admiring the snowdrops and then enjoying the cream teas!

Make a note in your diaries to come and join us this year. There is something for everyone!

Find us in the centre of the pretty village of Aston Rowant, well signed off the B4009 and less than one mile north of the M40 Junction 6. Parking is roadside in the village, with limited spaces near the Church for the disabled.

The Duck Races are on the stream in Fiveways on Church Lane, about 400 yards from the Church and at the junction with the Lower Icknield Way. They are FREE for competitors and take place continuously from 2pm to 4pm. We lend you the ducks and you test your skills against your friends.

The beautiful snowdrops are in the same location but remember your wellies as you are likely to encounter some mud!

Aston Rowant Church will be open from 2pm to 4.30 pm serving delicious cream teas provide by people from the Church and villagers, who also help with the overall planning of the event. All proceeds from the teas are donated to the Church funds.

The Duck Races are organised by Aston Rowant Parish Council Amenities Group. This group also look after the snowdrop area by the stream, encouraging wildlife and wild flowers.

We hope to see you there.

Peter Hetherington
