Thame Town Council has unfortunately had to close its doors and move all possible operations online as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak. However they have been working hard behind the scenes to support a massive mobilisation of the local community that has been led by the Facebook Group Love Thame Helpers. https://www.facebook.com/groups/lovethame/ Supported by local businesses the group has set up a local telephone support line that allows those who are having to isolate or those being ‘shielded’. The telephone line provides them with the opportunity to request support collecting shopping, picking up medication, or just wanting a friendly chat if they are feeling isolated. Information about this, along with a lot of other information has been delivered through every door in Thame and is also regularly updated at www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/coronavirus. The group is now working to try to connect with support groups in the surrounding villages, so that no one local to Thame feels alone or isolated at this time.
